A deliciously balanced and sweet coffee with a cup profile of wild fruits, cashew, lime and milk chocolate notes.
All the taste, none of the caffeine
Don’t be fooled. Despite the lack of caffeine, Ethiopian Kana Yirgacheffe is a deliciously balanced and sweet coffee with a cup profile of wild fruits, cashew, lime and milk chocolate notes. If you didn’t know it was decaffeinated, you really wouldn’t know.
A bit about Yirgacheffe
Yirgacheffe is a town and grade of coffee in Ethiopia, and it’s widely argued that a Yirgacheffe grade coffee offers one of the most distinctive flavour profiles in the world, with pungent floral aroma and intense citrus flavour.
Much of the coffee grown in Ethiopia is cultivated using traditional methods, under shade trees alongside other crops and without the use of chemicals. Coffee from Yirgacheffe is often referred to as ‘garden coffee’, as it is grown on very small plots, often in the back yard of small dwellings.
What’s so good about the Sparkling Water Decaffeination’ Process?
Unlike many other decaffeination processes, the agent used for extracting the caffeine is entirely natural and the process can be classified as ‘organic’ due to the complete lack of chemicals used throughout. To top it off, there are no health risks involved when consuming coffee that has been decaffeinated this way.
The sparkling water process allows the green beans to be left untouched, meaning decaffeination has no effect on the flavour and aroma of the finished product.
Ethiopia Kana Yirgacheffe Sparkling Water Decaf Coffee is truly remarkable in both its process and its taste. Perfect for those of you who love speciality coffee but want to steer clear of the caffeine.
